The act of braiding my daughter’s hair is a bonding experience that’s quiet, simple, and timeless. I’m not particularly talented when it comes to hair, but braids are forgiving, beautiful, and always different like a fingerprint. Braiding my own hair is a pre-race ritual, meditative in a sense, and a practice I’ve done for decades now. Braids are a universal trademark for female athletes and 2braids was founded to support, reflect, and celebrate the feminine strength and spirit.

The three strands of a braid represent unity of the body, mind, and spirit. 2braids’ core values embody strength of body, intrepidity of mind, and celebration of the feminine essence. 2braids fosters a movement that empowers girls and women and raises awareness of the challenges they face for fair sports environments.
